About

Discover a range of fascinating sites in and around the town centre on this heritage trail, which explores the recent history of this small Welsh market town. Highlights include Abergele’s small yet significant contribution during the Second World War - a legacy that can still be seen today.

Abergele also has a surprising number of Jewish connections that continue to the present day. These have been carefully documented by the Jewish History Association of Wales (JHAW), revealing the town’s important place within Wales’s wider multicultural story, including a modest but meaningful Jewish presence dating back to the First World War.

Created with the support of Abergele Town Council and Bangor University, the Abergele Heritage Trail features 20 sites of historical interest across the town centre and surrounding area.
